How does it work?

Cupping massage therapy integrates massage with traditional cupping. A vacuum is created with a silicone, glass or plastic cup over the skin. The tissue and muscle is pulled into the cup until a vibrant red color is evoked from the vacuum like properties of suction. The cups are lubricated and moved along the skin to promote blood flow, draw impurities and toxins to the surface of the skin and to relieve pain.

History of Cupping

Cupping dates back more than 5000 years. It's also known as "hijama" and has been thought to treat all sorts of ailments like anemia and hemophilia, rheumatic diseases such as arthritis, fertility and other gynecological disorders, eczema, acne, high blood pressure, migraines, anxiety, depression, allergies, asthma, and varicose veins.

Cupping & Athletes

Cupping is common among many athletes to increase range of motion and increase recovery time. Athletes, like many of us when overexerted, experience pain. Many utilize cupping as one very effective pain relief modality.
